Um dem steigenden Lern- und Schulungsbedarf in der Wissensgesellschaft gerecht zu werden, setzen immer mehr Bildungsverantwortliche in Unternehmen und Organisationen auf kurze, flexibel einsetzbare und aktuelle Bildungsangebote. Sie setzen auf das selbstorganisierte, informelle Lernen der Mitarbeiter und Nutzer. Die Rede ist immer häufiger von “Learning Nuggets”, “Wissenshäppchen” oder auch “Microlearning”.

Als Microlearning werden kurze Online-Aktivitäten bezeichnet, in denen entweder Nutzer selbstorganisiert Antworten auf aktuelle Fragen suchen oder in denen sich Lerner in Anleitung durch Bildungsexperten mit einem Thema auseinandersetzen. Kurze, kleine
Formate (Microcontent) gelten in der Regel als attraktiv. Sie versprechen einen schonenden Umgang mit Ressourcen, den materiellen, aber auch den immateriellen wie Zeit und Aufmerksamkeit. (Auch dieser Blogbeitrag ist eine Form von Microcontent).

Ein Bereich, in dem sich Kurzformate und Online-Lernen verbinden, ist zum Beispiel das Mobile Learning. Er ist entstanden, als sich Mobiltelefone zu einer Alltagstechnologie entwickelten und immer mehr Mitarbeiter großer Unternehmen und Organisationen über entsprechende Geräte verfügten. In den meisten Szenarien, für die Mobile-Learning-Angebote entwickelt wurden, stehen Vertriebs- oder Servicemitarbeiter im Vordergrund, die sich vor oder während eines Kundentermins schnell mit notwendigen Informationen versorgen.Viele Organisationen und Unternehmen haben zudem in den letzten Jahren komplexe Lernarchitekturen aufgebaut, in deren Mittelpunkt Learning Management Systeme (LMS) stehen. Ein LMS ermöglicht die zentrale Organisation aller Bildungsprozesse und -angebote, die effiziente Steuerung des E-Learnings sowie ein umfassendes Reporting und Controlling der Aus- und Weiterbildung. Es sind jedoch Systeme der formalen Qualifizierung, nicht des informellen Lernens. Deshalb gehen immer mehr Unternehmen dazu über, sich mit den Instrumenten des Web 2.0 auseinanderzusetzen und diese in ihre IT-Infrastruktur zu integrieren. Damit wird eine wichtige Grundlage für Microlearning und Microtraining geschaffen.

Der Einsatz von Microformaten in der Weiterbildung findet auf zwei Ebenen statt: Die eine Ebene ist die des Microlearning im Internet oder unternehmensinternen Intranet. Träger von Microlearning ist der Wissensarbeiter,der lebenslang und selbstorganisiert Lernende.

Die andere Ebene ist die des Microlearning als Teil des formalen Qualifizierungsangebots. Hier legt der Einsatz neuer elektronischer Kurzformate nahe, bestehende E-Learning-Strukturen und Prozesse kritisch zu überprüfen, zu erweitern und in Richtung des Wissensmanagements und informellen Lernens zu öffnen. Im Idealfall werden sich die Entwicklungen beider Ebenen überschneiden. Die Frage, wie sich Microlearning aus betrieblicher Perspektive entwickelt, ist also unmittelbar mit der Frage verbunden, wie sich Unternehmen und Organisationen den neuen Möglichkeiten des Web 2.0 öffnen. Der wachsende Anteil wissensbasierter Arbeitsprozesse wird hier das Tempo des Wandels bestimmen.

Das junge Team um CoboCards hat den Trend zum Microlearning erkannt und möchte auf diesem Gebiet einen Fullservice anbieten. Die mobile Version der Anwendung ist bereits entwickelt. Auch die Integration in betriebliche Netzwerke steht auf der Agenda. Ich wünsche Ihnen für die Zukunft viel Erfolg und alles Gute.

An extraordinary good programming and consequent testing and bugfixing were the reason why our iPhone/iPod Touch App was approved within a couple of days. Since today you can find our app in the App Store.

To use our app you need an accout on cobocards.com and flashcards sets created there. With one click you can download your sets onto your iPhone or iPod and immediately start learning them on the go (no need for internet connection).

You are able to:

• Learn sorted
• Learn shuffled
• Flip through

After evaluating your answers you can synchronise the levels with the webapp later. If you add new cards in the webapp, just download your set again. We tried to keep everything easy and intuitive.

Ali: And dude, how was it?

Tamim: Great! It was definitively worth to go. Received a lot of positive feedback about CoboCards. Especially students from the University of Hagen are using it frequently. Made a demo of the upcoming iPhone App. It’s cool in their opinion.

Ali: What about the sessions, organisation, the food and atmosphere?

Tamim: Excellent.

Ali: Have u met anyone I know?

Tamim: Had a chat with Jochen Robes and Tim Schlotfeldt about E-Learing in companies. Very interesting!

Ali: Any other interesting chats or ideas?

Tamim: Met new people, networked a bit. As usual, came back with intersting information.

Ali: Any idea where the next EduCamp will be?

Tamim: No.

Ali: Anything else u wanna tell me or our audience?

Tamim: It’s definitively worth participating at an Educamp. Try to be there next time.

On Monday the 1^st of February we’ll launch CoboCards-Pro.

In this version we have considered lots of your wishes.

As we communicated from the beginning we will ask for little amount of money for it. It’s 3 Euros.

Because you helped us a lot with your feedback during the past months, we will give all users, that signed up before 1.2.2010 full access to CoboCards-Pro for a whole month. After that you can decide whether to continue with Basic or purchase Pro.

For All users that sign up before 28.02.2010: Be aware: If you decide to be Pro-User for 12 months within February you will get 3 months extra for free! If you don’t purchase Pro until 28.2.2010 you will maybe see a downgrade-screen. Unfortunately, we had to limit the number of sets in CoboCards-Basic. You don’t have to quit Pro actively.

Is it possible to talk about education without CoboCards beeing involved? Of course not. Therefore we will participate with sessions and discuss in those of others. As we did at the 3. Educamp in Ilmenau and at the 1. Bildungscamp in Cologne we will sponsor the Educamp in Hamburg.

We are glad to see that the list of participants was full after a few days. 200 participants means new faces and interesting discussions and input for our project.

Unfortunately there was a small problem with Adobe Connect. As a matter of fact we were the second to present. The presentation is in German. If there are any English speaking online conferences out there we are certainly willing to do the same in English.
