Because I couldn’t go to the Educamp but still interested like crazy how it was, I wrote some questions into this post and asked Tamim to reply.

Ali: And dude, how was it?

Tamim: Great! It was definitively worth to go. Received a lot of positive feedback about CoboCards. Especially students from the University of Hagen are using it frequently. Made a demo of the upcoming iPhone App. It’s cool in their opinion.

Ali: What about the sessions, organisation, the food and atmosphere?

Tamim: Excellent.

Ali: Have u met anyone I know?

Tamim: Had a chat with Jochen Robes and Tim Schlotfeldt about E-Learing in companies. Very interesting!

Ali: Any other interesting chats or ideas?

Tamim: Met new people, networked a bit. As usual, came back with intersting information.

Ali: Any idea where the next EduCamp will be?

Tamim: No.

Ali: Anything else u wanna tell me or our audience?

Tamim: It’s definitively worth participating at an Educamp. Try to be there next time.

Da ich selbst nicht zum EduCamp gehen konnte, aber wahnsinnig interessiert bin, wie es war, habe ich Fragen in diesen Blogeintrag geschrieben und Tamim gebeten, diese zu beantworten.

Ali: Und, wie war’s?

Tamim: Sehr cool. Hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Gutes Feedback zu CoboCards von Usern bekommen. Studenten der Fernuni Hagen  nutzen CoboCards sehr intensiv. iPhone App vorgestellt. Die Teilnehmer fanden es cool.

Ali: Wie waren die Sessions, die Orga, das Essen, die Stimmung?

Tamim: Sehr gut.

Ali: Wen haste alles gesehen?

Tamim: Viele neue Leute und Projekte kennengelernt. U.a. Jochen Robes und Tim Schlotfeldt. Mit denen über E-Learning in Unternehmen geplaudert. Oder Stephanie Landa von AUDIYOU. Die habe ich zum twittern überredet 🙂 Helge Städtler und noch einige andere Menschen, die ich vorher noch nicht kannte.

Ali: Interessante Gespräche gehabt, Ideen mitgenommen?

Tamim: Neue Leute kennengelernt. Genetztwerkt. Wie immer auch für uns interessante Infos mitgenommen. Klasse auch das Mobile Konzept von der TU Braunschweig an alle Erstsemestler ein mobiles Device auszuteilen. Bin mal gespannt was daraus wird.

Ali: Steht schon fest, wo das nächste EduCamp stattfindet?

Tamim: Noch nicht wirklich. Aachen war wohl mit im Gespräch.

Ali: Irgendwas, was du mir oder den Lesern sagen willst?

Tamim: So ein Besuch eines Educamps lohnt sich definitiv. Sollten beim nächsten Mal dabei sein.

In this version we have considered lots of your wishes.

As we communicated from the beginning we will ask for little amount of money for it. It’s 3 Euros.

Because you helped us a lot with your feedback during the past months, we will give all users, that signed up before 1.2.2010 full access to CoboCards-Pro for a whole month. After that you can decide whether to continue with Basic or purchase Pro.

For All users that sign up before 28.02.2010: Be aware: If you decide to be Pro-User for 12 months within February you will get 3 months extra for free! If you don’t purchase Pro until 28.2.2010 you will maybe see a downgrade-screen. Unfortunately, we had to limit the number of sets in CoboCards-Basic. You don’t have to quit Pro actively.

Der lang ersehnte Tag ist da und wir gehen heute mit einem großen Update, der CoboCards-Pro online. In dieser Version haben wir viele der Wünsche unserer Nutzer implementiert.

Wie wir von Anfang an kommuniziert haben, werden wir für die Features in der Pro-Version einen kleinen Beitrag verlangen. Der ist wichtig, damit CoboCards weiterhin bestehen bleibt und unsere Nutzer weiterhin Prüfungen mit CoboCards bestehen. Er ist es also definitiv wert.

Einführungs-Aktion

Alle Nutzer, die sich vor Februar angemeldet haben, bekommen CoboCards-Pro bis zum 28.2.2010 kostenlos freigeschaltet.
Und alle User, die sich bis vor den 28.2.2010 bei CoboCards anmelden oder bereits angemeldet hatten und sich für eine 12-monatiges CoboCards-Pro Abo entscheiden, bekommen 3 Monate gratis von uns zusätzlich dazu. Ab dem 1.3.2010 gibts bei dem 12 Monats Paket nur einen Gratis Monat dazu.

Eine aktive Kündigung der Probezeit der Pro ist nicht notwendig. Wenn man bis zum 28.2. nicht die Pro bestellt hat, bekommt man am 1.3. ggf. eine Downgrade-Screen angezeigt. Denn CoboCards-Basic müssen wir leider in der Kartensatzanzahl beschränken.

It’s time for an Educamp again. This time at the university of Hamburg on the 5. & 6. of February 2010.

Is it possible to talk about education without CoboCards beeing involved? Of course not. Therefore we will participate with sessions and discuss in those of others. As we did at the 3. Educamp in Ilmenau and at the 1. Bildungscamp in Cologne we will sponsor the Educamp in Hamburg.

We are glad to see that the list of participants was full after a few days. 200 participants means new faces and interesting discussions and input for our project.

Ship ahoy Hamburg! We’re comin‘!

Es ist mal wieder so weit. Das 5. Educamp steht vor der Tür. Diesmal am 5. & 6. Februar 2010 in Hamburg an der Universität Hamburg.

Kann es denn ein Barcamp über bildungsrelevante Themen ohne CoboCards geben? Dachten wir uns auch und sind auch diesmal wieder mit dabei. Wie das 3. Educamp in Ilmenau und das 1. Bildungscamp in Köln sponsern wir auch das Educamp in Hamburg.

Besonders freut es uns, dass die Teilnehmerliste recht schnell mit 200 Teilnehmern gefüllt wurde. Das verspricht viele nette Leute mit denen man ausgiebig über Bildung diskutieren und wieder neue Impulse für die eigene Arbeit mitnehmen kann.

Bleibt nur noch zu sagen: Ahoi Hamburg, wir kommen!

Unfortunately there was a small problem with Adobe Connect. As a matter of fact we were the second to present. The presentation is in German. If there are any English speaking online conferences out there we are certainly willing to do the same in English.

You will see some screens of the big update coming soon and of the iPhone/iPod app.

Falls ihr am gestrigen Online-Webmontag nicht dabei sein konntet, gab es eine Aufzeichnung dazu.

Es gab ein paar Probleme mit Adobe Connect, so dass unser Beitrag als Zweites erfolgte. Nach einer kurzen Einführung seht ihr dabei erste Screens des baldigen Updates und der iPhone/iPod App.

So, nun viel Spaß dabei!

So lautet nicht nur der ungefähre Titel eines von Felix G. Gray im Jahr 2003 neu verfilmten Klassikers, sondern auch die Wette innerhalb unseres Teams.

Es ist der 10. Dezember 2009. Aus dem Nichts kommt eine Mail unseres lieben Kollegen Tamim: „Wenn unsere User bis Ende 2009 einen Gesamtkartenbestand von 1.000.000 Karten aufgebaut haben – was ich ehrlich gesagt für unwahrscheinlich erachte – dann lade ich das Team zum Italiener ein.

Hmm… so wie wir unsere User kennen, müsste das drin sein, dachten wir uns und nahmen die Wette an. Natürlich wollten wir nicht nur untätig herumsitzen und haben ein paar neue Marketingideen verwirklicht. Die Jagd auf die Million war eröffnet.

Am 16. Dezember 2009 fragte uns Tamim dann einen Blick auf die Kartenzahlen werfend: „Ok, wann wollt ihr genau zum Italiener?“ Das breite Grinsen konnten wir uns natürlich nicht verkneifen. Wer lässt sich nicht gern in ein schickes italienisches Restaurant einladen?

Ohne Eure fleißige Arbeit hätten wir natürlich nicht so einen schönen Abend gehabt. Daher ein ganz dickes Dankeschön an Euch da draußen. Natürlich haben wir beim Essen auch über neue Features für Euch gesprochen.

Wir finden, dass Tamim auch in Zukunft Wetten anbieten sollte. Schließlich gibt es noch Inder, Türken und Chinesen. Sie alle wollen das CoboCards-Team einmal bewirten 🙂

This is not just the title of a movie remake by Felix G. Gray but also the topic of a bet within our team.

It was the 10^th of December. Without any warning we received this mesage from our dear friend and colleague Tamim: „If our users should have created a data base of 1.000.000 flashcards by the 31^st of December – which I really doubt – I will invite you all for a dinner at an Italian restaurant”.

Well…this should be possible. We accepted the bet. Of course, we didn’t want to stand idly by. So we realised a few new promotional activities to get more people using the Pool. The hunting for the million was started.

On the 16^th of December Tamim asked us after having a look at the flashcard development of the past six days: Ok, when do you want to do the Italian job? We couldn’t avoid grinning broadly. Who doesn’t want to go to an exclusive Italian restaurant?

Without you hardworking guys we would never have such a nice dinner. A big hug to all of you. Self-evidently we talked about new features for you in CoboCards.

We deeply hope that Tamim will offer such bets in future again. There are still Indian, Turkish or Chinese restaurants which would be happy to do the catering for us 🙂
