DQ1 DEATH IN WAR
Both Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried (pages 101–111) and Randall Jarrell’s Death of the Ball Turret Gunner (page 550) describe a death as a result of war. Yet each is remarkably different in the tone used to describe that death. What are the differences in tone between these two works?
