- Reduce RPM to clutch ahead on both engines
- Identify affected engine
- Notify crew of casualty
- Secure affected engine
- Coxswain verify current position and evaluate situation
- Crew member check outboard engine to assess the situation
- Crew member rig the anchor, as directed by the coxswain
- Fire extinguishers on scene
