What happened in 1864 at Vicksburg?
In 1864 the Army of Tennessee under Maj. gen. Grant defeated the Confederate Army besieged in the fortress of Vicksburg, after one of the most important besieges in the Civil War. It is considered on of the most important turning points in the war.
