A rock falls from rest a vertical diatance of 0.72 meters to the surface of a planet in 0.63 seconds. What formula would you use to find acceleration due to gravity on this planet?
d=v(initial)*t + 1/2*a*t^2

Two rocks are launched horizonally off a cliff.  One is launched at 30m/s, the other at 20m/s.  Which hits the ground first?
Both hit at the same time.

What are Newton's three laws?
1. An object at rest stays at rest, an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force.

2. The accleration of an object is proportional to the net force acting on that object and inversly proportional to it's mass.  OR F=ma (this is not technically Newton's second law, but it comes from it).

3. Every force has another force equal in magintude and oposite in sense (direction).

What equation would you use to find the acceleration of an obeject starting from rest and reaching 5m/s in 10s.
a = (change in v) / t

-OR-

v(final) = v(initial) + a*t
