- N,N-Dimethylnitrosamin wird ebenfalls durch Cytochrom-P-450 hydroxiliert. Im Anschluà spaltet sich Formaldehyd ab und instabiles N-Methylnitrosamin entsteht, welches in in Methyldiazoniumhydroxid zerfällt. Dieses wiederrum spaltet Wasser, Stickstoff ab und gibt somit ein Carbokation frei welches Zellkomponenten Methylieren kann:
