CoboCards Supports Successful Migrant Children

As you may already know all founders of CoboCards are migrant children. Our parents came to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. We all three (Tamim, Jamil and myself) were born in Germany, went to school and studied here.

You also know that we feel responsible for our society and try to change, influence or support educational issues and efforts. In that matter we sponsored various events like the Educamp or schools (see previous blogposts).

We decided to continue our sponsorships in 2011. When we searched for appropriate projects we found the START foundation. The foundation supports students with migration background who are successful at school and involved in social activities. So it was obvious for us to support a foundation like this.

The START Foundation was founded 2002 and supports more than 700 students in 14 different federal states within Germany. More than 100 partners are supporting Start with sponsorships, so students can get 100 € per month and hardware equipment. Additionally Start offers seminars where students can improve their social and educational skills. The aim is to get these students to go to university.

We cannot sponsor Start with a full sponsorship (about 5.000 €) but what we can do is to offer each of their students Pro-Accounts. Addiotianlly we mentor 3 of them from our region. It would be a big success for us to get them to study at university.
