Kleinste interne Organisationseinheit von Daten, kann nur zwei Werte annehmen, Bitwerte werden durch die Symbole 0 und 1 dargestellt, 8 Bits ergeben ein Byte, 1000 bit = 1 kbit, 1024 bit = 1 KByte.
