What is Instance based learning?
New problem instances are compared with instances seen in training phase (stored in memory) instead of performing explicit generalization (lazy learning).

Hypothesis
  • Constructed on the fly directly from the training instances
  • The complexity can grow with the data
  • In the worst case it is a list of all training samples

Advantage
  • Adapt the model to previous unseen data
