We’re happy to announce that more and more publishers and authors start offering profesionally made flashcards on CoboCards.

Han Trainer Pro offers Chinese flashcards beginning with Chinese-German and German-Chinese (Pro users just need one of them and can switch). Later this week Chines-English and English-Chinese will follow.

After we picked up the wish for Ordered and Unordered Lists from the wish list, we implemented another wish from the Wiki-Wishlist: Merging flashcard sets.

This feature is quiet useful if you’ve imported various flashcard sets (e.g. Spanish) and want to have only one set.

And here is how it works:

1. Choose one of the sets and click on “Merge” on the Menu of the set

2. Choose the other set you want to merge with and select if you want to move (original sets will be deleted) or to copy (a new set is created).

3. Rename the new flashcard set (if copied). Finished!

As easy-peasy as all other features of CoboCards.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither our Pool. After we re-designed the Pool visually (we blogged about it here), we decided to re-categorize it ourselves.

What have we done?

We’ve deleted all sets with less than 5 flashcards in order to get some quality into the Pool. In future it will not be possible to publish flashcard sets with less than 5 flashcards.

We re-categorized almost all published sets and we’ll do that in future. If we have miscategorized something due to unclear flashcard names, please give us a shout at info@cobocards.com

Many people study on CoboCards. But how do they do it and how do they perform? Our user naraesk was so kind to write us his experiences with CoboCards.

Here’s a short summary of his German essay:

naraesk studies Business Informatics at the University of Leipzig in Germany. When he first studied with CoboCards he did it right before the exam. He started to write flashcards and learned them irregularly.

He passed his exam with a 2.3 which is maybe comparable with a B in the USA.

The next semester he decided to purchase a Pro Account and to ask fellows to join his team. They are 13 now. He very soon realised that the others were not collaborating a lot, so had to do a lot of the writing. In contrary to his first approach he started to write flashcards during the semester and tried to learn them with the Leitner-Algorithm. Although the algorithm does not know his calender and therefore asked him a lot of the questions, he tried to do them all.

The result was that he passed 2 of his 5 exams. The first one with 1.0 (equivalent to A+ in the USA) and 1.3 (= A+/A).

Next semester he wants to re-animate his fellows again. He thinks that studying with CoboCards ist very effective but also costly in terms of time.

The Pro user with the most logins to CoboCards is Simon (1957), then brucker1106 (1169). The Free users with the most logins are Binary (742) and bb2k (633). Glad to see, that you guys use CoboCards so intensively.

Shmaya has published the most flaschard sets in the Pool (77 for Hebrew), followed by Ati (21, various) and krebs (20, Latin). Thank you very much!

We also want to thank heojupie, whose flashcards regarding Chemistry were imported 19 times and are on the top.
